Making and Cancelling Appointments
We would like patients to be seen by their usual doctor. This will help to ensure that the GP you consult is familiar with your medical history.
Appointments and cancellations can be made:
- in person
- by telephone
- online using our internet booking service
- by automated telephone booking service
If calling, please try to avoid our peak times, e.g. early morning and early afternoons, particularly after Bank Holiday weekends.
The online and automated telephone booking service are both available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You are no longer be able to book a same day telephone call with a GP for a routine matter.
Telephone consultations for non-urgent matters will be treated similarly to routine appointments, the receptionist will add you to the telephone list of your usual doctor when they are next available.
This is to enable our GPs to deal with urgent cases more promptly.
If you have a telephone appointment booked with your GP please ensure you are in a position to take the call.
Failure to attend
Please give us as much notice as possible when cancelling your appointment. Due to the inability to offer late cancellations to other patients, less than 24 hrs notice may result in that appointment being considered a failure to attend.
Late attendance of 5 minutes for a routine appointment and 10 minutes for any other appointment may result in you being asked to rebook, and that appointment being considered a failure to attend.
